Kids.. who would have them..

Why is it.. just when you think life is going well.. something leaps up and bites you..
Two years.. my youngest twin has been out of work, he was unlucky enough to leave college when the Motor Industry was going bust.. so his year long apprentice mechanic course was a waste of time..
Anyway, just this last two months or so he must have applied for hundreds of jobs, anythign and everything, noone would give him a break until Asda finally caved in to his 7 (yes 7TH) attempt, and accepted him. Admittedly it was only a few hours, and not the most challenging of work, but was a job. He muddled through, only has 4 more weeks to go.
This afternoon I had a phone call. *mum.. think Im in trouble*.. uh oh.. Seems he flipped and lost his cool with one of the Managers.. he answered back, thankfully he didnt swear or anything, but did snap.. having worked at asda I do know this particular manager and yes she is enough to make anyone go mad.. but I really hope she doesnt take this too far.. He didnt call her names or anything, just she told him to go collect some trolleys, and he said *ive done it, go check if you dont believe me*..oopsssss.. thats my boy..
I really hope this wont cost him his job..

  1. Hope everything is alright for him Amanda.

Would it help if he just went and apologised for snapping at her?

My dear niece is 20 this year - she has been on one college course after another since leaving school at 16 as she cannot find a full time job. Now since having a nasty virus before Christmas she is only capable of part time work. She finishes college in a couple of weeks time and even though she is looking at what course to do next has decided to sign on as she hates college now - at 20 she is classed as a mature student and she is fed up of being with giggling 16 year olds.

I hope things work out fine for your son - it is so difficult for youngsters now especially as they are up against all the graduates who are pouring out of university with no hope of getting work - dear niece has been going up against graduates for jobs like shelf stacking and chambermaiding.

  2. Sorry you are feeling stressed Amanda and hope your son still has his job although I don't see what grounds they could possibly fire him for from that! Maybe a warning or something and if they did fire him I would kick up a huge stink!
